Cartographic publications

The Ivan Vazov National Library holds a rich collection of cartographic publications. A valuable possession is the oldest map of Bulgaria compiled by a Bulgarian and printed in Bulgarian language - "Map of the present Bulgaria, Thrace, Macedonia and the lands belonging to it in 4 sheets with the dedication of Mr. Dimitri Hadzhi Russet, published for the benefit of the newly established Slav-Bulgarian school in Ruschuka". Strasbourg, 1843. Of special interest are also the "Map of the Filibe Sanjak" of 1819 and 1876, the "Plan of the city of Plovdiv and its surroundings", 1827, the "Plan of the city of Filibe" of 1878, the Plans of the city of Plovdiv by Joseph Schniter, etc.
