The Yellow School
National Monument of Culture Built in 1868. Called so through the painting of its facades, it actually is the first Bulgarian high school founded in Plovdiv in 1868 on the basis of the famous St. St. Cyril and Methodius School , and accommodated in the new building designed particularly for the purpose. It was built by the famous Bratzigove past-master, Todor Damov. Today the above place gives lodging to the Folklore Faculty of the Plovdiv Academy of Music. The state folk ensemble “Trakia” was formed in 1974. The chief artistic leader and choreograph of ensemble “Trakia” is Daniela Dgeneva. In the ensemble participate 80 singers, dancers and musicians. The ensemble “Trakia” has been an innovator in the musical and dance forms for already 33 years and not for a moment tore the link of the contemporary art with the deep roots of the Bulgarian folklore, traditions and legends. For that period of time the ensemble “Traia” has had thousands of concerts all over Bulgaria. It has performed concerts in almost 53 countries of all continents like France, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Japan, India, Israel and Mexico.
